The Mediterranean Supersite Volcanoes, MED-SUV (2013-2016) project was a 24-partner project funded by FP7 Environment Programme of the European Commission, addressing topic “Long-term monitoring experiment in geologically active regions of Europe prone to natural hazards: the Supersite concept”. MED-SUV aimed at improving the consortium capacity of assessment of volcanic hazards in Supersites of Southern Italy by optimizing and intergrating existing and new observation/monitoring system, by a breakthrough in understanding of volcanic processes and by increasing the effectiveness of the coordination between the scientific and end-user communities.
The project was led by Instituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV).
